Philadelphia alt-rock risers Grayscale will close out their landmark year with the release of The Hart (Deluxe) on 3 December 2025 via Infield. The expanded edition arrives nearly a year after the band launched the original album to critical acclaim, millions of streams, and major media support from Forbes, Rock Sound, Good Guys Press and more.
Alongside the announcement, the band share the Deluxe edition’s luminous focus track, “Painting Over You,” featuring GRAMMY-nominated vocalist Cassadee Pope: a swirling, synth-kissed soft-rock standout that showcases the band’s evolution while preserving their signature emotional depth.
Forbes previously praised Grayscale for “changing the business model for band merchandise,” while Rock Sound hailed their ability to craft songs that “grip the heart and soul.” Good Guys Press spotlighted “Through the Landslide” as a defining anthem of resilience, a theme woven throughout The Hart and deepened in this new edition.
A Dynamic Reimagining
The Hart (Deluxe) reinvents each song with fresh collaborations, remixes, and atmospheric reinterpretations, featuring contributions from Smallpools, Derek Sanders, Slowly Slowly, Veaux, The Wonder Years, and more. From the expansive ambience of opener “The Hart,” to the electrified remix of fan favourite “Let Go,” to the dreamy emotional swell of “Painting Over You,” the project highlights a band confidently stretching into new sonic territory.
Frontman Collin Walsh shares:
“Having our friends all jump on songs that we love, for a record we adore so much, meant the world to us… doing this with artists we love and have toured with over the years all in one concentrated album was crazy, chaotic, and so fun.”
A Breakout Year
Having already amassed festival slots at Slam Dunk, Riot Fest, Firefly, Sad Summer Fest, and So What?! Fest, plus a viral 1.2M-view video for “Forever Yours,” Grayscale continue to cement their place in the modern indie-rock landscape. Furthermore, the Philadelphia-born band (formed in 2016 and inspired by influences from The Killers to Bruce Springsteen), remain dedicated to community impact as supporters of Girls Rock Philly and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
